A Whimsical Wonderland: Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Nestled in the tranquil village of Partaloa, Spain, the Mongolian Yurt at Casa Oasis recently transformed into a scene straight out of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”. On a sunny afternoon, the enchanting setting hosted a “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” themed afternoon tea, delighting guests with its imaginative and whimsical touches.

As guests approached the yurt, they were greeted by a vibrant display of oversized playing cards, whimsical signs pointing in all directions, and a pathway adorned with giant mushrooms, evoking the surreal charm of Wonderland. The entrance itself was a rabbit hole-like archway, setting the tone for the fantastical experience that awaited within.

Inside, the yurt was a kaleidoscope of colour and eccentricity. The centrepiece of the room was a long table, whimsically set with mismatched china, teapots of all shapes and sizes, and a curious assortment of chairs. The table was festooned with a variety of delectable treats that were as delightful to look at as they were to eat. From “Eat Me” cakes and “Drink Me” potions to an array of finger sandwiches and scones, the spread was a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

The tea service was conducted by staff dressed in character, with the Mad Hatter himself, complete with his iconic top hat, presiding over the event. Alice, the March Hare, and even the Cheshire Cat made appearances, engaging guests in lively conversation and playful banter. The atmosphere was further enlivened by whimsical music and occasional bursts of laughter, truly capturing the spirit of Carroll’s beloved tale.

Decorations throughout the yurt added to the immersive experience. Paper lanterns and fairy lights hung from the ceiling, casting a magical glow over the scene. Teacups and saucers were cleverly suspended in mid-air, as if caught in a moment of Wonderland’s delightful chaos. Intricately designed clocks and watches adorned the walls, all stopped at 6 o’clock – perpetually tea time, just as it should be in Wonderland.

Guests were encouraged to dress in their best Wonderland attire, and many obliged, adding to the festive atmosphere. The array of costumes was impressive, with many sporting elaborate hats, whimsical dresses, and fantastical accessories. A prize was awarded for the best costume, judged by the Mad Hatter himself, adding a competitive yet friendly spirit to the event.

The afternoon concluded with a surprise unbirthday celebration, complete with a towering cake that seemed to defy gravity, much like the world of Wonderland itself. The guests sang an enthusiastic rendition of the “Unbirthday Song,” bringing the magical tea party to a jubilant close.

The “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” at Casa Oasis was more than just an afternoon tea; it was an enchanting journey into a world of imagination and whimsy. With its meticulous attention to detail and creative flair, the event provided a delightful escape from reality, leaving guests with memories of a truly extraordinary afternoon.
